Hello, thank you for checking out my first post on the Werewolves blog! Since this is the first post of this blog I thought this would be a great time to explain what this blog is, how it came about and how I plan on using it. But before all that let me explain a little about myself:

My name is Lisa, I am a 22 year old Mexican attending a Japanese University studying global business. I have been living in japan for about 9 years in total living in Hiroshima, Okinawa and now in Nagoya. My main goal in life is to start my own business, I am not sure in what yet but I tell everyone that it will have something to do with publishing. In reality I just want to be able to self publish my own books under my own publication company, but I don’t really know how to do that yet. Writing has always been a passion of mine as I often have a lot of story ideas, and so I must write them down. In addition to writing I am also an artist. Since I have a lot of different ideas I love to create things to make those ideas reality that is why I don’t just write the stories but I also draw the characters, take pictures of places that look like settings, record sounds to give the world life and so on. I think the last thing you need to know about me is that I am currently single but on the search for that special someone. Surprisingly that has become quite difficult in this day and age.

And so that takes us to this blog, Werewolves. I have always told people I would start a blog so I guess now is a better time then ever. In general this is a personal blog to share my experiences and stories throughout my life. Very frequently after I tell a funny story people tell me how interesting my life is. I often shrug it off as I don’t see it as very interesting because its my life lol. Another aspect of this blog is relationships. Most of my stories are from the crazy things I do while dating, specifically while dating Japanese men. So now that we have the life and relationships what about the werewolves? I decided to name this blog werewolves because that’s how I feel sometimes. I will get deeper into this feeling during my posts but for now I will just describe it as not fitting in when you are trying your very hardest to fit in.

Now how did I come up with Werewolves? The idea of this blog comes from two main places; Sex and the City and the asian male community on Reddit. This past summer break I committed to binge watching the entire Sex and the City series which got me romanticizing the idea of writing a dating advice column. Bringing my laptop to a cafe in the city and typing about how women shouldn’t accept a date from a man who won’t pay for dinner while sipping on tea. That sounded like heaven (In reality I am currently writing this post from my dorm room at 1 am). For the Reddit groups I am often on r/AMXF or Asian Male and Non-Asian Female, as well as r/AsianMasculinity. Both of these subreddits often engage in discussions about relationships between Asian men and woman outside their culture which of course is the kind of relationship that I am in often. They also give me deeper insight into Asian men and how they feel about things like relationships, politics, family and views on their own culture.

I will also like to state that this blog is not a place for hate or stereotyping. Everything in this blog has been things I have personally observed in a few people, it does not represent what all people of any group do as everyone is their own individual. I will do my best to make sure that there are little to no statements like “all men…” or “all Japanese men…” in my posts. Lastly while I personally think that my posts are not that extreme and are not geared towards politics some of my views may be upsetting to some people.
